Project Versioning saves complete project snapshots with an audio preview, so you can compare versions by ear before restoring one.
Save a version
Press ⌘⇧S to save a versioned snapshot. Gridshift saves the complete project state and creates an audio bounce (AAC) for preview. Use ⌘S for regular saves, ⌘⇧S for versioned snapshots.
Each version captures the full project state — tracks, clips, effects, automation, and all settings. The audio bounce lets you compare versions by ear without loading them.
Version history
Access versions from the Project inspector tab (⌘5). Each version shows its name, date, and a play button for the audio preview.
Versions are stored inside the .gsp project bundle, so they travel with the project file — including when synced via iCloud.
Preview and load a version
Click the play button on any version to hear the bounce without loading it. This lets you quickly A/B between different arrangements or mixes.
Click a version name to load it. Gridshift will prompt you to save current changes if needed. Version history is preserved when switching — you never lose access to other versions.
