Bounce to Disk
Press ⌘B to open the bounce dialog. Choose a format and Gridshift renders the full project to an audio file.
| Format | File Type | Description |
|---|
| WAV | .wav | Uncompressed PCM — industry standard for production |
| AIFF | .aiff | Uncompressed PCM — Apple’s equivalent of WAV |
| AAC | .m4a | Compressed — smaller files, good for previews and sharing |
| FLAC | .flac | Lossless compression — smaller than WAV with no quality loss |
Bounce Selection
Press ⌘⌥B to bounce selected clips with their track effects to a new sample track.
This renders the selected audio clips through the full effect chain of their source tracks and places the result on a new track directly below. Useful for:
- Committing effect processing to audio (“freezing” a track)
- Creating processed stems for export
- Reducing CPU load by replacing live effects with rendered audio
The new track inherits the source track’s group membership and is positioned after the last source track.Last modified on March 28, 2026
