iCloud Integration keeps your projects, presets, and settings in sync across every Mac signed in to the same Apple ID. Sign in on each Mac and Gridshift keeps the following in sync automatically:
  • Projects — your .gsp project bundles, including embedded audio, version history, and the project’s comment list.
  • Effect Presets — see Presets.
  • Monitor Profiles — see Monitor Profiles.
  • Plugin Categories — see Plugin Categories.
  • Sample-library annotations — ratings, tags, and detected BPM/key on samples you’ve indexed. See Sample Library.

CloudKit project sync

Alongside the files, Gridshift publishes a lightweight CloudKit projection of every project in your iCloud library, whether or not it’s currently open — its name, description, tempo, track list, and artwork thumbnail; a record per saved version; and its comment list — so the iOS Companion can browse and play your work from a handful of small records instead of downloading the whole bundle. This is on by default.
Bounce audio is its own record type, uploaded separately, and the companion only fetches one when someone presses play — browsing the project list never pulls audio. The samples you drag into a project are a different matter: only their ratings, tags, and detected tempo and key sync, never the audio files themselves.

Gridshift folder in iCloud Drive

Projects, presets, and monitor profiles live as files in iCloud Drive. Open Finder and navigate to iCloud Drive → Gridshift to see:
Saving (⌘S) and the Open Other… file picker both default to the Projects folder. You can organize it any way you like — Gridshift watches the folder and updates the project browser automatically when files arrive from another Mac.

Download progress

When you open a project that isn’t on your Mac yet, Gridshift shows a Downloading from iCloud… indicator with progress while the bundle is fetched. Once it’s local, loading continues straight into the project. Large projects with embedded audio may take a few seconds on the first open.
