Choose when the metronome plays
Set the mode fromCommand Palette → **Metronome Mode**:
Command Palette → **Metronome On/Off** is a quick toggle — it turns the click on
(Always) or off, whatever the current mode.
Change the click sound
Pick the click style fromCommand Palette → **Metronome Style** — Hihat (the
default), Click, or Woodblock.
Groove-aware clicks
The metronome follows the selected track’s groove, so its off-beat clicks swing in time with the track. With no single track selected, it falls back to the project groove. See Groove & Swing.Set the count-in
Count-in is a separate setting from the mode — its clicks always play before recording, even when the metronome mode is Never. Set it fromCommand Palette → **Count-In** — Off, 1 Bar (the default), or 2 Bars.
When recording starts with a count-in enabled:
1
The playhead holds position
It stays where it is — nothing records during the count-in.
2
The metronome counts the bars
Clicks play for the configured number of bars, and a visual overlay shows the
current beat.
3
Recording begins automatically
When the count-in finishes, recording starts on the beat.
