Balance the tracks in a group
Balance the whole mix from Master
Select the Master track. Its Master Mix section, between Mix and Monitor, has one row per track that feeds Master directly. Drag a row,⌥-click it to reset it to 0 dB, or double-click it to type a value.
Good to know
- A row is the track’s own fader. A move there is an ordinary volume change; the track’s Mix section shows the same value, and its automation lane and MIDI binding keep driving it.
- The fader sits before that track’s clipper. Pulling a Master Mix row down drives the clipper less, rather than turning down an already clipped signal.
- A nested group is one row, with that group’s own fader. Its children stay on the nested group’s own Inspector.
- Master Mix lists each ungrouped track and each top-level group. Return tracks are not listed; they stay in the Sidebar’s Outputs section.
- Only the first 10 rows show. With more, click the section header to show the rest.

Details
- The sections set volume only. Pan, mute and solo stay on each track’s own Inspector and in the Sidebar.
- Automation lanes inside a group are not listed: they carry no audio and have no fader.
- Neither section appears when nothing feeds the bus.
- Groups themselves (making them, nesting, color) are on Groups; each track’s own controls on Track Mix.
