# What Doesn't Sync

> Something made on one Mac is missing on another, or on iPhone. Sample audio needs Sync samples; the rest syncs on its own once both devices share an Apple Account.

## Turn on Sync samples for the audio

Sample audio stays on each Mac until **Sync samples** is on in `Settings → Library`; tags, favorites and collections sync without it. Switch it on on the Mac that holds the samples.

## Check both devices use the same Apple Account

Sign in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive on, and keep **Sync projects** on in the same section.

## Synced and not synced

| Synced | Not synced |
| - | - |
| Projects with their audio, versions and comments | Sample audio, until **Sync samples** is on |
| Presets, Monitor Profiles, Controller Profiles, ducking curves, saved parts | The device's own output volume |
| Sample Library tags, favorites, collections and Trash | |
| Keyboard shortcuts, MIDI command bindings, plugin categories | |

The full list: [iCloud](/sync/icloud.md).

## Good to know

* **The iPhone never gets the full project.** It plays the bounce preview that **Save Version** makes on the Mac, so a project with no saved version cannot play there.
* **The iPhone plays a small copy of each sample**, which exists only once Sync samples is on.
* **The iPhone cannot delete a project or make a new sample collection.** Do both on the Mac.
* **A full iCloud plan stops uploads.** The status line under the switch says so.
