# Metronome

> Five metronome modes, selectable click styles, adjustable volume, and a configurable count-in.

## Modes

Configure when the metronome plays via the Command Palette (`⌘K` → "Metronome Mode"):

| Mode | Behavior |
| ------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Always** | Clicks during all playback |
| **Recording Only** | Clicks only while recording |
| **Count-In Only** | Clicks only during the count-in before recording |
| **Recording & Count-In** | Clicks during both count-in and recording (default) |
| **Never** | Metronome off |

## Click Style

Change the click sound via the Command Palette (`⌘K` → "Metronome Style"). Multiple styles are available including hi-hat and classic click sounds.

## Count-In

When recording starts and the metronome mode includes count-in:

1. The playhead stays at its current position
2. The metronome clicks for the configured number of bars
3. A visual overlay shows the current beat count
4. Recording begins automatically after the count-in

### Count-In Bars

Configure 1 or 2 bars of count-in. The number of beats per bar follows the project's time signature.

## Volume

Adjust metronome volume from the Command Palette or settings. The volume range is 0% to 100% (default: 70%).

## Settings Persistence

All metronome settings (mode, style, count-in bars, volume) are saved automatically and persist across sessions.
